Ronald A. McIntosh, Lead Director

Mr. McIntosh has over 40 years of experience in various operational and executive roles including responsibilities in Canada, the United States and internationally. His positions have included President and CEO of Navigo Energy Inc., Senior Vice President and COO of Gulf Canada Resources, Vice-President of Exploration and International of Petro Canada, and Executive Vice President and Chief operating officer of Amerada Hess Canada Ltd. Previously He held various operating and executive roles with AEC (EnCana Corporation), Teck Corporation and Atlantic Richfield Company.

Mr. McIntosh has had experience as an executive and board member with mergers and acquisitions, public equity offerings, initial public offerings, corporate transformations and repositioning, and executive transitions. Mr. McIntosh has served on public and private company boards including the roles of board chair, chair of health safety and environment and reserves committee, and as a member of audit, governance, compensation, and risk committees. He currently sits on the boards of North American Energy Partners Inc., Advantage Oil and Gas Ltd. and Fortress Energy Inc.

Mr. McIntosh, a resident of Calgary, AB. holds a degree in Geological Engineering(1964) from the University Of Saskatchewan and an M.Sc. in Geology (1967) from the same university. He has completed the Executive development program at Columbia University and is a registered Professional Geologist with APEGGA.



Daniel A. Wiseman Lead Director

Mr.Wiseman has been a director of EarthRenew since March 2001. Mr.Wiseman is Chair of the Audit Committee. Mr. Wiseman is a business advisor with over 15 years working experience in the private business sector, providing trust and estate tax planning to high net worth families in Canada, financial and business strategy advice, including structuring transactions and sourcing financing for small to mid-market private businesses. Since September 2006, Mr.Wiseman has been a Senior Financial Consultant with Sorrell Financial Inc., a firm dedicated to creating financial certainty for high net worth Canadians through insurance strategies that offer clients superior tax effective asset protection. In 1997, Mr. Wiseman founded and is currently President of Harvard Investment Group Ltd., a private investment holding company. Mr. Wiseman was Vice President of Corporate Development of Lingo Media Corporation, a TSX Venture Exchange listed company, from November 2004 until August 2006 and was Managing Director of Inverness Capital Corp. from May 2003 to October 2004. Mr.Wiseman founded Harvard Capital Corp., a TSX Venture Exchange listed company, in August 1998 and acted as its CFO and Director until December 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Windsor, and a Bachelor of Science degree from York University. Mr. Wiseman is a Chartered Accountant and a Trust and Estate Practitioner and practiced with a major international firm where he also obtained his in-depth tax course designation.



Ronald E. F. Codd, Director

Mr. Codd has over 28 years experience in management, finance and governance, specializing in high growth, high tech management. Mr. Codd is the Chair of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee and is an independent corporate director appointed on June 19, 2009. Mr. Codd has significant experience on public and private boards including positions as board chair, lead director, audit committee chair, nominating and governance committee chair and compensation committee member. His management and board experience encompasses going public transactions, public debt and equity offerings, mergers and acquisitions, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, management transitions, public disclosure and corporate communications.

Mr. Codd previously served at PeopleSoft, Inc. as CFO, Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration, and Secretary. During his seven year tenure at PeopleSoft, he concluded a successful initial public offering in 1992 and oversaw substantial growth, seeing annual revenue run rates increase from $15 million to $1.5 billion. More recently, Mr. Codd was President, CEO and Secretary at spinout software firm Momentum Business Applications, Inc. that was later repurchased by PeopleSoft. Mr. Codd previously held financial management roles at MIPS Computer Systems, Inc., Wyse Technology Inc. and Tandem Computers, Inc. and currently serves as an independent business consultant. Mr. Codd also serves on the Board of Directors of DemandTec, Inc., Calypso Technology, Inc. and UltraCell Corporation. Mr. Codd holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of California at Berkeley and a Masters of Management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management (Northwestern University).



John Gunn, Director

Mr. Gunn has over 35 years experience in power generation. Mr. Gunn has been a director of EarthRenew since April 2007. Mr. Gunn is Chair of the Health, Safety and Environment Committee and is an independent corporate director. Mr. Gunn was Senior Vice President, Project Development with ATCO Power Limited from 1991 to 2004. From 1989 to 1996 he was Vice President Project Development CU Power International Limited. He holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering, degrees from the University of Alberta. A professional engineer, Mr. Gunn holds non-active membership with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.



Robert H. Getz, Director

Mr. Getz is a private investor and since 1997 has served as a Managing Director and Partner of Cornerstone Equity Investors, LLC, a New York based private equity investment firm. Cornerstone was formed by the former senior team that led Prudential Equity Investors, to make investments in management buyouts, recapitalizations and growth financings. Prior to the formation of Cornerstone, Mr. Getz served as a Managing Director and Partner of Prudential Equity Investors, Inc., where he had worked since 1987. Over the past twenty years, Mr. Getz has completed numerous transactions in the Manufacturing, Technology, and Business Service sectors. Mr. Getz has significant experience in public and private debt and equity financings and strategic mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Getz also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Haynes International, Inc., MDN Inc. and Palladon Ventures Ltd.

Mr. Getz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in International Relations from Boston University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.



Christianne Carin, Chief Executive Officer and Chair

Ms. Carin combines a background in technical design and commercialization, science and business with over 24 years experience in management and innovation. Ms. Carin is the Chair of our Board and Chief Executive Officer, having held those positions since she founded EarthRenew in December 1999 and was our Chief Financial Officer from July 2004 to September 2007. Ms. Carin is the primary inventor and continues to be the main developer of our technology. With her business development expertise, she leads the EarthRenew team in all aspects of product, process and equipment technology developments, commercialization, diversification, and adaptation. 

In addition, Ms. Carin provides direction in corporate and financial strategies, providing an innovative work environment for a creative and talented team. From 1993 to 1999, prior to founding EarthRenew, Ms. Carin was a consultant providing financial, business development and management services for a number of firms in British Columbia and Alberta including food and agriculture, livestock, manufacturing, hospitality and air transport. Services included strategic planning, corporate restructuring, technology commercialization, financing and mergers and acquisitions. From 1988 to 1992, Ms. Carin founded and headed a full service architectural and engineering firm in the Vancouver area providing services to governments and private sector clients throughout British Columbia, Canada. Special projects included engineering designs for hospitals for hazardous and recycling waste management programs. From 1981 to 1985, she was founder and President of a computer graphics firm in North Vancouver, providing innovative computer graphics services and established remote timeshare CADCAM services for engineering and architectural design firms in the Vancouver area. Ms. Carin served for seven years as a board member and four years as Vice Chair with the Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, British Columbia. Ms. Carin holds a Master of Business Administration (Honors) degree in International Business from Asia Pacific International Institute (New Zealand), and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honors) degree from the University of British Columbia. Ms. Carin was the winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award — Cleantech category for the prairies region in 2009.



Dr. Al Fedkenheuer, President and Director

Dr. Fedkenheuer has over 30 years experience in management and research in soil and environmental sciences. Dr. Fedkenheuer has been our President since July 2004 and our Chief Operating Officer from September 2004 to April 2010. From September 2002 to July 2004 he was our Executive Vice President and from May 2000 to September 2002 he was our Vice President, Product Research and Development. He has been a director of EarthRenew since May 2000. Over this period Dr. Fedkenheuer managed and contributed to our intellectual property development in both technology and product refinements. His expertise extends to strategic planning, host development, permitting and regulatory affairs as well as leading the development of marketing and sales and product R&D strategies. From 1990 to 1999, Dr. Fedkenheuer was a Senior Research Scientist and from 1982 to 1989 he was a Senior Environmental Specialist at TransCanada Pipelines, Ltd. (formerly NOVA Corporation) in Calgary, Alberta. From 1980 to 1982 Dr. Fedkenheuer was Head, Land Reclamation, Environmental and Social Affairs with Canstar Oil Sands Ltd., Calgary, Alberta and from 1976 to 1980, a Reclamation Research Scientist with Syncrude Canada Ltd. Edmonton, Alberta. Dr. Fedkenheuer cofounded ALCLA Native Plant Restoration Inc. in 1992. He also founded the Canadian Native Plant Centre, a not-for-profit company with which he presently acts as President and Chairman. Dr. Fedkenheuer has served as an Assistant Professor at Lakehead University, Ontario and as an active guest lecturer at the University of Alberta and Montana State University as well as on graduate student supervisory committees. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor, Environmental Design Faculty, University of Calgary, Alberta. Dr. Fedkenheuer holds a Ph.D. in Forest Ecology from the University of Minnesota as well as a Master of Science degree in Forest Soils and a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Wisconsin.
