WaterRenew™ solutions are designed for desalination, tailings pond treatment and waste water treatment.
Rapidly increasing populations and climate change are pressuring existing water sources, leading municipal and industrial users to seek new technologies for energy efficient recovery, recycling and treatment. Industrial and mining processes use large volumes of water and often place the contaminated water into large lagoons or tailings ponds for storage, slow evaporation or to await the development of new treatment technologies. Leakage from these lagoons or ponds into waterways can create serious problems.
Desalination is increasingly being utilized to help mitigate scarcity of water in places such as the Middle East, North Africa, the Caribbean, Southern Europe, Australia, China, Singapore, California and the southern US. Desalination is expensive - plants cost a lot to build and they are expensive to operate. Also, desalination typically requires large amounts of energy, emits GHGs and often produces a brine waste stream.
The primary strength of our technologies is heat processing efficiency. We have proven this efficiency in our core WasteRenew™ business, increasing heat processing efficiencies by over 60% as compared with using a gas burner. We are now commercializing the application of these technologies in similar thermal processes where energy efficiency and low emissions are critical. The most prolific of these processes are desalination, tailings pond and waste water treatment. We started this commercialization process by filing an additional five US patents to extend coverage and are now commencing advanced engineering.
Licensing or Joint Venture or Alliances
We are seeking licensing arrangements or joint venture or alliances with recognized entities with complementary capabilities and industry knowledge to rapidly commercialize in these areas.
